collective practice | 合舍設計
collective practice is a design driven multidisciplinary practice founded in 2017 in Hong Kong. We provide services in spatial planning and design. We believe that a good project is the product of perfect marriage between different professionals. We believe spatial experience is like story telling, and through the understanding of user needs we can create unique narrative space and experience.
The two founding partners, Kai and Michael are from Taiwan and Hong Kong, met and studied in Canada, then went on to study and work in Europe. The studio is then created upon the return of the partners to Asia. The partners’ brought the international experience have created a unique studio culture and value.
“SCENERY + CHARACTERS + EVENTS” are the primary elements of a story as well as the key drivers of our design approach. “SCENERY” defines the building and its relationship to the site, a building should have a proper gesture to react and interact with its surrounding. “CHARACTERS” are the users and their values reflected upon the design of the space. “EVENTS” are predetermined activities to take place within the space, or sometimes they are surprises that happen unintentionally. Designs driven by these three core elements allows our projects, whether they are architecture, interior, or installation, to be unique and highly tailored.
合舍設計是一間以設計為主導的跨領域建築事務所，在2017年成立於香港，我們主要提供建築規劃及設計的服務。我們相信一個優良的項目是由不同專業之間的配合及碰撞下產生的結果。我們相信空間可以說故事，透過對使用者的需求理解創造出獨特的空間體驗及故事。
兩位創始人Kai與Michael來自於臺灣及香港，在加拿大就學並分別前往歐洲深造。不同的文化背景與旅居世界的經驗最終在香港組成了一個設計團隊。文化上的差異與不同的經驗形成了獨特的工作室文化與價值觀。
“場景+人物+事件”是構成一個故事不可或缺的元素，同時也是我們對空間設計的基本理念。“場景”定義了建築與周遭環境的關係，一個建築物更應該有適當的姿態來回應並與周遭環境產生互動。“人物”是建築物的使用者與他們既有的價值觀應該反映在建築的設計。“事件”是在空間內發生了預先規劃的活動，有時甚至是偶然發生的驚喜。這三個元素為核心主導的成果讓每一個項目，不論是建築、室內或裝置設計都是獨特且高度客制化的。
